His first clip to be released since his 2015 Tour ending injury last year, Matt Banting is very much back in the water. Filmed over 2 months in the lead up and during the Quiksilver Pro, Matt hit a series of spots up the east coast of Australia with filmer Jimmy Graham and photographer Peter Boskovic on a mission to redefine and fine­tune his surfing.

The result: 2 minutes 30 seconds of fast paced, flawless, precision surfing. A style of surfing that Matt has becoming synonymous with. Be sure to grab your notebook and a pen fo this one, because Matt’s giving out a free lessons.

Quik Pro Finals Wrap-up

Three to four foot waves in light offshore winds saw Joel Parkinson and Filipe Toledo kick off the quarterfinals. It was a heat with the old school versus new school in style and Toledo took some early waves with Parko not finding his top two scores until later in the heat that weren’t enough to make it through to the semis with 12.34 to Toledo’s 12.16.

Quik Pro Rounds 4 & 5 wrap-up

Round 4 kicked off three-man heats with Filipe Toledo, Joel Parkinson and Conner Coffin. Toledo kicked off heat 1 with a 9.17 followed by a 9.20 then a 10 - the first of the season. Parko and Coffin were faced with combination situations with only a couple of minutes left on the clock. Toledo goes straight through to the quarterfinals with Parko and Coffin to battle it out in round 5.

Quik Pro Round 3 wrap-up

The waves cleaned up overnight and the surf was pumping in four to five foot conditions with more predictable conditions for the competitors to chase the best scores.

The swell built overnight to three to four foot and kicked off at 7.30am sirening most of the WCT surfers out of the free surf line-up.
